Writing About My (Your) Life
Double Transmitter
I always wanted to write and reflect about my life, In Public. I admired a lot of people that did this, mostly from abroad (I'm from Argentina). Blogs where the authors would share thoughts, projects, feelings, life, everything.
It felt intimate — you see, the written word has That Kind of Magic that implies a different voice talking to us but at the same time it's our own voice.
I call this the Double Transmitter.
Blogs were the first Social Media. And it was Good Social Media.
Long form quality texts, long form quality comments. We used to have time to read and write (and think!) at that time. Nowadays Time seems to be in shortage.
Anyhow, the thing is, I never wrote about my life or projects In Public because I felt too exposed.
And I don't like exhibition.
I believe the "exposed" feeling is caused by the socioeconomic context of the country I live in, Argentina. I still have that feeling.
It could also be Fear.
In Argentina we sometimes live In Fear. But I reached the point I need (and want) to do this. To overcome the fear and share what I want to share (which is a lot).
I plan to use Writing as an Engine. Did you ever used yours like that?
I already did it once. By writing I accomplished a lot of things that I'd never dreamed of.
But it ended up in a Burnout.
About Burnin'out
You know I always read about burnout with skepticism. Like, "come on, some stress is that bad to you?".
I underestimated the seriousness of mental health.
I don't do that anymore.
The Burnout didn't feel good, believe me. It's been a couple of years and I'm still slowly recovering from it. When in the peak, I could hardly sit at a computer for more than 5 minutes without feeling exhausted. And, sitting at a computer was something I loved and enjoyed so much in the past.
It took me months to recover from burning out.
Please do yourself a favour and don't reach it.
Write to accomplish Life Goals
So, I hope to reach my goals In Life and I will write and tell about them, how they go, random ideas, etc.
Let's see if Writing Saves Me One More Time.
Please share your thoughts and the article if you like it, follow me or write me in any of my social media accounts at @marcelomazza.
